Wearable Device Data

With explicit consent, we collect activity data from connected wearable devices including:

  • Active minutes and exercise data
  • Calories burned

We receive this data through authorized integrations with Fitbit, Apple Health, and Garmin via Terra API. We only access data that the elderly user explicitly consents to share.

How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information to:

  • Generate and send SMS text message summaries of activity data
  • Maintain and improve our service functionality
  • Process your subscription and billing
  • Respond to customer service inquiries
  • Send service-related announcements when necessary

Consent and Authorization

Moovama operates on a dual-consent model:

  • Elderly user consent: Must explicitly authorize connection to their wearable device and consent to share data with specific family members
  • Family member opt-in: Must explicitly opt in to receive text message updates

Either party can revoke consent at any time by:

  • Replying STOP to any SMS message
  • Disconnecting the wearable device in account settings
  • Deleting their Moovama account
  • Contacting our support team

Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data:

  • Encrypted data transmission (TLS/SSL)
  • Secure database storage with access controls
  • Regular security audits and updates
  • Limited employee access to personal data
  • Secure API integrations with wearable device platforms

However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Data Retention

  • Activity data: Stored for 90 days, then automatically deleted
  • SMS logs: Retained for 90 days for service quality purposes
  • Account information: Retained while your account is active
  • After account deletion: All personal data is deleted within 30 days, except where required by law
